SnapStrike — Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 24, 2026

Short version: SnapStrike uses your camera or photo library to read bowling scoreboards. Standard Scan processes images entirely on your device — nothing leaves it. The optional AI Enhanced mode sends your scoreboard photo directly from your device to Anthropic's API using your own API key; ElevenSeventeen Systems never receives or handles that photo. No personal data is collected by us.

Overview

ElevenSeventeen Systems, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") built SnapStrike as an iOS application. This page describes our practices regarding data collection, use, and disclosure when you use SnapStrike.

By using SnapStrike, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.

Information We Collect

SnapStrike does not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information on our servers. We do not operate any backend infrastructure that receives data from the app.

No account, email address, or login is required to use SnapStrike.

Camera and Photo Library Access

SnapStrike requests access to your device camera and/or photo library for the scoreboard import feature. This access is used solely to allow you to capture or select a photo of a bowling center scoreboard.

SnapStrike offers two scan modes with different data handling:

  • Standard Scan — all image processing runs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. No images are transmitted to ElevenSeventeen Systems or any third party.
  • AI Enhanced Scan (optional) — if you choose to enable this feature and provide your own Anthropic API key, your scoreboard photo is sent directly from your device to Anthropic's API. ElevenSeventeen Systems does not receive, process, or store this image. See AI Enhanced Scan and Anthropic API below for full details.

In both modes:

  • Photos are processed in memory and are never saved by the app unless you explicitly save a game
  • The app does not have access to your full photo library — only photos you explicitly select or capture within the app
  • You may deny camera/photo access via iOS Settings at any time; the manual score entry feature will still work without these permissions

Data Stored on Your Device

SnapStrike stores your bowling game records (frame-by-frame scores, player names, dates, analytics data) locally on your device. This data:

  • Never leaves your device via the app
  • Is not accessible to ElevenSeventeen Systems or any third party
  • Can be deleted by uninstalling the app or using the delete function within the app
  • May be included in an iCloud backup if you have iCloud backups enabled (controlled entirely by your iOS settings)

AI Enhanced Scan and Anthropic API

SnapStrike includes an optional AI Enhanced scan mode that uses Anthropic's Claude Vision API for improved scoreboard recognition accuracy. This feature is entirely opt-in and requires you to provide your own Anthropic API key (Bring Your Own Key / BYOK).

When you use AI Enhanced Scan:

  • Your scoreboard photo is transmitted directly from your device to Anthropic's API servers
  • ElevenSeventeen Systems does not receive, process, or have access to this photo or the API response
  • Your API key is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and is never transmitted to ElevenSeventeen Systems
  • All communication is between your device and Anthropic directly
  • Your use of Anthropic's API is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service

If you do not configure an Anthropic API key, AI Enhanced Scan is not available and no network requests of any kind are made by the app.

Third-Party Services

SnapStrike does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash reporting SDKs. The app relies on Apple's native frameworks (Vision, SwiftUI, SwiftData) for all core functionality. The only optional third-party network communication is the direct device-to-Anthropic API call described above, which you must explicitly enable by providing your own API key.

Network Access

Standard Scan mode operates entirely offline and makes no network requests. AI Enhanced Scan mode makes a direct network request from your device to Anthropic's API only when you initiate a scan. No other network communication occurs.

Children's Privacy

SnapStrike does not collect information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. As we collect no personal data, there is no COPPA compliance concern related to our data practices.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
